I have worked in the child care industry for 20 years, generally as a trainer and consultant. My current position is to support child care providers who are caring for children with disabilities. It is funded with Recovery Act funding so I don’t know that it will exist next year. I have a comment and a question. First, infants and toddlers are served with Infant Toddler Services provided by Part C of the IDEA. This is a home-based service as opposed to a school-based service, but in my experience, provides more individualized supports for children and their families, which research shows is the most useful framework for children with disabilities.
I would also like to know more about the transportation service the Linskins found. We are in desperate need for a transportation solution for many preschool students who qualify for inclusion preschool like their daughter attended, but can’t get there because their parents can’t take off work to take them there. I don’t know if it would be possible to send me some information about that, but many kids and families in Kansas would appreciate it! https://kccto.org/itsn/what-we-do/
